"HOW MUCH MORE COURAGE IT TOOK TO BE KIND THAN TO BE CRUEL" - LOUISE PENNY

EMMA SCHEIFLEY, STUDENT INTERN

Hi, I’m Emma!

I’m so glad you’re here!

I know reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, so first off, thank you for taking this step. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own, and you don’t have to show up in any particular way to belong here.

I’m a student intern who is passionate about helping guide you in your wellness journey, whatever that may look like for you. I see my role as walking alongside you rather than leading the way, offering tools, curiosity, and compassion as you explore what healing could look like for you. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, and I draw from Narrative Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy but what matters most is finding what fits you.

I’ve spent the last nine years supporting folks through challenges like anxiety, depression, relationship and family conflicts, and life transitions. My academic path took me through sociology, social work, and women & gender studies at Western University, and now I’m completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. These experiences shaped how I see people not just as individuals but also within their families, communities, and cultures.

Therapy isn’t always neat, it can get messy, confusing, and even a little funny sometimes. But I truly believe you’re the expert on your life, and my job is to help you notice patterns, spark insight, and feel a bit more at home within yourself.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me curled up with a book or rewatching Brooklyn 99 for the hundredth time. I love a good cup of coffee or podcast, ideally together. I also have a cat named Simba who I love dearly. If anything here resonates with you, or even if you’re just curious, feel free to reach out. You’re more than welcome here, exactly as you are.
