“ WHEN WE ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO CHANGE A SITUATION, WE ARE CHALLENGED TO CHANGE OURSELVES.” - VICTOR E. FRANKL

OLIVIA DAVITT (SHE/HER), RP

Hi, I’m Olivia (she/Her)!

I am a Registered Psychotherapist dedicated to helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and make meaningful changes that support growth, self-trust, and a more fulfilling life.

My work is grounded in the belief that all people have an innate capacity for growth and change. However, that capacity is often shaped and constrained by trauma, difficult relational experiences, and oppressive social systems. I specialize in working with individuals who have experienced complex or developmental trauma, including attachment trauma and long-standing patterns related to emotion regulation, self-worth, and relationships. Many of the people I work with live with BPD, overwhelming emotions, current or past experiences in abusive relationships, and/or challenges with self worth.

In therapy, we engage in an in-depth exploration of the experiences that have shaped who you are today. Together, we look at how past trauma and relational wounds continue to influence your emotions, relationships, and sense of self in the present. I use an integrative approach drawing primarily from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). These modalities support both deep insight and practical change, helping you understand how your experiences have shaped you, while also building concrete skills to navigate intense emotions, relationship challenges, and hard-to-break patterns with greater stability and self-compassion.

My approach is kind and compassionate, yet direct. I am active in sessions and introduce difficult conversations, especially when they are necessary for meaningful change. I pay close attention to recurring themes and patterns that show up over time, and I name these directly so we can address them head on. While sessions are responsive to what is coming up for you, our work is guided by overarching therapeutic goals and continuing themes from session to session.

I hold a Master’s degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Legal Studies from the University of Waterloo. Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent over eight years working in the not-for-profit sector with individuals navigating trauma, complex family dynamics, and experiences of discrimination. I also have additional training in trauma-informed care, suicide intervention, and crisis intervention.

Outside of work, I love to read (mostly thrillers and literary fiction), cook, play board games, or enjoy a marathon session of my favourite TV show or podcast. I look forward to the opportunity to support you in your therapeutic journey!
