CARLYN CHORNY, RP
Hi, I’m Carlyn!
I’m a Registered Psychotherapist dedicated to creating a space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported, especially if reaching out for therapy feels overwhelming or unfamiliar. Taking the first step into therapy can take an incredible amount of courage, and I deeply respect the vulnerability it takes to ask for help.
As both a clinician and someone who understands the experience of being on the other side of the therapy room, I know how important it is to feel genuinely seen and comfortable with your therapist. My goal is to offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk in. Together, we can explore what’s weighing on you at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.
I work with individuals navigating concerns including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions. Whether you’re feeling stuck, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or simply exhausted from carrying too much on your own, therapy can be a place to slow down, gain clarity, and begin creating meaningful change.
Having completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and as a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, my work is grounded in evidence-based practices, compassion, and deep respect for each person’s unique story. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to help you better understand yourself, build healthier coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
Outside of my work, you can usually find me reading, sipping coffee, going for walks, or recharging in small pockets of quiet time. I understand how busy and emotionally demanding life can feel, and I bring that understanding into therapy, by keeping our work together realistic, compassionate, and grounded in what actually feels sustainable in everyday life.
