ANNA NAJCLER, STUDENT INTERN
Hi, I’m Anna (she/They)!
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. As a student intern, I am honoured to support individuals in developing a deeper understanding of themselves and in making meaningful progress, whatever that looks like for you. I know that starting therapy can bring up many different feelings. It can feel scary, exciting, uncomfortable, hopeful, and overwhelming all at once. I want to acknowledge that all of these feelings are valid, and that there is space for all parts of your experience here.
My work is grounded in the firm belief that you are worthy of acceptance, compassion, and growth. I want to emphasize that therapy is not about “fixing” you, because you are not broken. Instead, therapy explores how mental health struggles are shaped by a combination of biological, psychological, social, and systemic factors. Together, we will explore these layers in a way that feels supportive, collaborative, and meaningful to you.
My approach is compassionate, yet direct. I am active in sessions and will gently name patterns, themes, and areas that may be keeping you feeling stuck. Our work together is focused on supporting you in making meaningful progress, while also moving at a pace that feels safe and manageable. I take an integrative, client-centred approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Attachment Based Approaches, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Compassion Focused Therapy. I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs, with a focus on exploring past experiences to help you better understand yourself, navigate emotions, and build tools for change.
I have experience supporting survivors of sexual violence, as well as individuals navigating boundary setting, people-pleasing patterns, and challenges related to self-worth. I am particularly passionate about supporting clients in exploring their values, strengthening self-esteem, and cultivating self-compassion. I also bring my lived experience as a neurodivergent individual and as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community into my work. This informs my commitment to creating a space that is affirming, inclusive, and grounded in anti-oppressive practice.
Outside of the therapy office, I am usually hanging out with my dog, working on a new crochet project, or spending time in nature. I am passionate about self-expression, and I do so through art, dance, singing, and creative projects. I look forward to learning more about you and walking alongside you through your healing and wellness journey!
