Wednesdays, October 28 – December 16 · 7:00–9:00 pm
Exhale Therapy, 475 Park St, Kitchener
$800 for eight sessions · 8 to 12 people
A small group to learn how trauma affects the body and mind, find ways to cope, and surround yourself with others who understand. Because you are not alone. You won't be asked to tell your story.
Everyone starts with a short call so we can make sure the group is a good fit. Calls by Wednesday, October 26.
Who it's for
This group is for women, non-binary and Two-Spirit adults (18+) who experienced sexual violence as an adult, as a child, or both.
What the group covers
Each Wednesday focuses on one topic, with a check-in, a short teaching piece, group discussion, a skill to practice, and a check-out. Topics include:
Trauma and the nervous system
The window of tolerance
Emotional regulation
Grounding skills and mindfulness
Boundaries and healthy relationships
Shame, self-compassion and identity
Triggers and coping strategies
Reclaiming safety and building resilience
How it works
A closed group: the same people every week, and nobody new joins partway through
No trauma processing and no in-depth sharing
A break halfway through each session
A take-home resource each week
Led by Rachel Holland, RSW, with Anna Najcler, RP (Qualifying), and Rebecca McKay, psychotherapy student intern
Insurance

Simply put, confidentiality at Exhale Therapy means that the information you share during your session stays between you and your therapist.
The only thing that takes precedence over confidentiality is safety. There are four limits to confidentiality where your counsellor is legally (and ethically) obligated to report to the appropriate authorities:
